Celebrating 30 years and counting!
31 July 2007
We just celebrated 30 years since our high school graduation. I don't know about everyone else, but I had a great time! Thanks so very much to the organizing committee! Your time and effort are greatly appreciated.
This is the first class reunion I have attended and I can't believe I waited so long. I have a few observations to share:
It was great to see old friends...
The years have changed us all - for the better I think...
Getting together once every 10 years - and only for a few hours is not enough!
I missed even getting to speak to everyone - that's disappointing!
I missed the crab claws - but I heard they were great...
And finally - Life is good!
Let's use these web pages to share - stories of the glory days at BCHS, our current lives, our families, our achievements, our future plans. Let's continue the reunion atmosphere and reach out to each other as we continue down life's path. I will fill in the columns on the right side of this web page - but I ask all of you to help me make this a success by sharing also.

Life after BCHS - share yours!
Who wants to start? Share your family, your travels, your accomplishments. We want to hear about what you've been up to since our days at BCHS!Your career... what do you do? Is it fun, or just a job?
Hi, Dawn (Robinson) Conway here. I'll start this off with a few updates on my life so you can get an idea of what to write when you do this!
Pete Conway and I married on July 16, 1977 and went to Zweibruecken, West Germany two weeks later. We were there for three years and it was great - a 3 year honeymoon! While we were there we visited Paris (twice) and lots of other great European cities. I worked as a bank teller on the base and Pete worked the navigation systems on the RF-4 recons.
In 1980, Pete left the Air Force and we moved to La Plata, MD, where he went to work at a navy satellite tracking station. I went to the local community college. In 1981, Pete took a leave of absence from his job and we moved back to Bay Minette so we could attend USA. For the next 3 years, Pete bounced between MD and AL while I completed my degree in Physics.
In 1984, I graduated and went to work at the Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA) in Greenbelt, MD. Pete still worked at the tracking station. After about a year, we both begin working at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. It was a great place to work and we had a fantastic careers.
Then, we decided to have children. Kaitlin was born on March 5, 1990, and Rebecca was born on January 18, 1992. Both were born in La Plata, MD.
Not wanting our girls to be products of the DC suburbs, we moved to the Huntsville, AL area in 1993. I went to work for NASA and Pete kept his DC job - long distance commuting. Eventually, we settled into our current jobs- Pete as a program manager for a portion of the Patriot Missile Program (Army) and me as the lead software engineer on a climate change satellite program for NASA.
We live on a 10 acre farm with all our pets in Athens, AL. We love visitors, so let us know if you are going to be in the area! We love to travel and to fish - we have a pontoon boat and live close to the Tennessee River. We are also active in our girls' school activities. Our other hobbies include genealogy, jewelry-making, and geocaching.
The Future - what are you plans?
Retirement? Back to school? Travel? New home?
Pete and I are hoping to retire soon, but we have 2 girls to get through college first. A year or so after retirement, we expect to RV across the US and Canada for a few years. Then, who knows where we will end up?
